of five individuals on conspiracy, narcotics and weapon possession charges following a long-term undercover investigation. The defendants were involved in three overlapping narcotics operations. Approximately $300,000 cash, two pounds of cocaine and firearm in Farmingdale, L.I. home.













Ackquille Pollard, aka “Bobby Shmurda,” Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Conspiracy and Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor, announced the sentencing of Ackquille Pollard to seven years in prison and five years post-release supervision for Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree in Manhattan Supreme Court.













17 Arrested and Two Firearms Seized Following East Harlem Drug Gang Investigation: Sales near Schools and Playground
New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced the the arrest 17 individuals as a result of a long-term investigation into round-the-clock narcotics sales in the vicinity of the AK Houses, a privately-owned affordable housing complex in East Harlem, Manhattan. The Crime Strategies Unit for the office of New York County District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. assisted in the investigation.













Over 65 pounds of heroin recovered from truck axle in Croton-on Hudson, N.Y.: Two arrested
Bridget G. Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced the arrest of two men charged with possessing at least 30 kilograms of heroin (over 65 lbs.) hidden in the axle of a truck’s trailer. The defendants were intending to sell the heroin for up to $2.3 million wholesale to distributors in New York City, Long Island and across the Northeast. When repackaged for street level distribution the shipment would have yielded well over half a million individual doses of heroin.













Former Physician Indicted for Selling Amphetamine Diet Pills to Patients After Losing Medical License
Bridget G. Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced the indictment and arrest of Steven Bernhard, a former practitioner of osteopathic medicine, for selling amphetamine diet pills to patients long after his medical license was revoked for dangerous prescribing practices. The indictment includes charges related to a 65-year old female patient with a history of heart disease who died while taking amphetamine pills obtained from the former doctor.

New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced the indictment and arrest of nine individuals in connection with sales of cocaine at Sin City Cabaret, a gentlemen’s club located at 2520 Park Avenue in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.













Cocaine concealed in hundreds of pounds of yucca
Bridget G. Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced the seizure of 52 kilograms of cocaine found concealed in fake Latin American root vegetables from a basement apartment in the Soundview section of the Bronx. The apartment is located across the street from P.S. 196, an elementary school, and close to two other schools: P.S. 691, also called Bronx Little School, and The Cinema School, a public high school. Drug stash house found across the street from P.S. 196 in the Bronx.













More than a million dosages of heroin removed from the streets before Fourth of July holiday weekend
New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced the seizure of 64 kilograms of packaged heroin (140 lbs.) from a single-family private residence located in the University Heights section of the Bronx. One of the largest heroin mills dismantled in NYC: Nine arrested and $300,000 seized.

Ten Arrested in Staten Island Gang Takedown: Indictments Charge Heroin Trafficking and Shooting, Two Firearms Seized
New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced the arrest and indictment of 10 individuals on Staten Island and in New Jersey as a result of a long-term investigation by the New York City Police Department’s (NYPD) Staten Island Gang Squad (SIGS). The indictment brought by the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor centers on heroin trafficking, a shooting and weapons possession. The Richmond County District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD initiated the investigation.













Nine convicted in long-running scheme to smuggle cocaine from Puerto Rico to New York via the U.S. Mail
Bridget G. Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor, announced the convictions of nine members of a sophisticated trafficking ring that smuggled large quantities of cocaine from Puerto Rico to New York City in U.S. Postal Service packages, and used a Bronx daycare center as a cover for drug crimes. The head of the drug ring, JUAN VALDEZ, and his top lieutenants pled guilty to felony drug charges and were sentenced to prison.













Alex Crandon Sentenced to 53 1/3 Years to Life in Prison for Role in “GS9” Gang Warfare
Bridget G. Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor, announced the sentencing of Alex Crandon, 22, to 53 1/3 years to life in prison for his role in gang warfare that extended from New York City to Miami, and involved murder and multiple attempted murders between January 2013 and October 2014.
